Norm Groot, Monrovia Growers, was named "CMA's Credit
Executive of the Year 2002" at the Annual Meeting. Norm has long been
active in CMA activities, including six years on CMA's Board of Directors,
Chairman of the Board of Governors for Industry Credit Groups, member of
CMA's Nominating Committee, member of CMA's Strategic Planning Committee,
Chairman of the Western States Landscapers and Suppliers Group, Chairman
of the Southern California Nurserymen's Credit Group, Chairman of the Mass
Merchandisers Credit Groups, presenter at CMA's Industry Credit Groups, Chairman/Vice-Chairman
orientation meetings, and founder and Chairman of National Wholesale Nursery
Products and Suppliers Groups.
In addition to the above service to NACM and CMA, Norm still
finds time to participate in other industry-related and community activities.
These include serving on the Board of the California Foundation for Agriculture
in the Classroom, California Farm Bureau Federation (and former president)
among several other church and school activities. Presentation of the award
was made by Robert Shultz of Q 2 C Business Process Consulting, last year's
Credit Executive of the Year and CMA's new Chairman-Elect.
